The CDC departments of Neijiang and Ziyang in Sichuan released the results of the questionnaire survey on New Coronavirus infection to the public. According to the time distribution of new coronavirus infection filled in by the public, the daily new infections are now in the retreat stage.
From December 23 to 25, 2022, among 37,114 survey respondents in Neijiang City, 25,642 people self-reported having been infected with New Coronavirus, with an infection rate of 69.09%. As of 15:00 on December 28, a total of 4,904 people in Ziyang City participated in the Ziyang City New Coronavirus infection questionnaire survey, involving three counties (districts) in the city, of which 3,318 were positive for nucleic acid or antigen of New Coronavirus, with an infection rate of 67.66%.
Hainan: Haikou and Sanya have passed the peak of infection
On December 31, the Hainan Provincial CDC released the “Results of the Network Survey on New Coronavirus Infection in Hainan Province (Second Round)”. Based on the results of the two rounds of network survey, as of December 25, the cumulative infection in Hainan Province is close to 50%. The cumulative infection rate in Sanya and Haikou is over 50% and has passed the peak overall; the cumulative infection rate in 5 cities and counties is close to 50%; other 12 cities and counties are in a rapid “climbing period”.
North, Shanghai and Guangzhou: The epidemic tends to calm down on New Year’s Day
On December 31, Chen Saijuan’s team, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, published a research paper “Preliminary analysis of the diversity and epidemiological characteristics of the Omicron subtype in the new crown epidemic in China in autumn and winter 2022”. The study preliminarily determined that the number of infections in this round of Omicron epidemic will level off around New Year’s Day 2023 in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chongqing and other cities.
