Two new local confirmed cases and 11 new local asymptomatic infections in Shanghai yesterday

On November 16, 2022 from 0-24 hours, 2 new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia and 11 asymptomatic infections were found in Shanghai, all in isolation control. There were 6 new confirmed cases of overseas imported Newcastle pneumonia and 26 asymptomatic infections.

From 0-24 hours on November 16, 2022, there were 2 new confirmed cases of indigenous Newcastle pneumonia in Shanghai. One case was cured and discharged from hospital.

Case 1 and Case 2, temporarily residing in Songjiang District, were both close contacts of previously reported local infected persons from other provinces returning to Shanghai in the city. The nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal during the isolation and control period, and the results were reviewed by the CDC as positive. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as a confirmed case.

From 0-24 hours on November 16, 2022, there were 11 new cases of indigenous asymptomatic infections in Shanghai.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 and asymptomatic infected person 2, temporarily residing in Songjiang District, are close contacts of previously reported local infected persons from other provinces returning to Shanghai in the city. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 8, residing in Baoshan District, and asymptomatic infected person 9, residing in Songjiang District, were both returned to Shanghai from other provinces, and were notified by foreign provinces and municipalities for coordination, and were put under isolation control after arrival in Shanghai.

The asymptomatic infected person10, residing in Jing’an District, was a close contact of the local asymptomatic infected person reported in the city on November 15. The nucleic acid test result of the new coronavirus was abnormal during the isolation control period, and the result was reviewed by the CDC as positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of an asymptomatic infected person.

Asymptomatic infected person 11, residing in Jinshan District, was found abnormal in the routine nucleic acid test of the closed-loop management key personnel. The results were reviewed by the CDC and found to be positive. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 2 was a Chinese national who studied in Singapore, departed from Singapore and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 11, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 3 was a Chinese national who worked in Japan and departed from Japan and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 11, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 4 was a Canadian national who was visiting relatives in Canada and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 12, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon arrival, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 5, a Chinese national working in the United States, departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 13, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 6 was a Chinese national visiting relatives in Hong Kong, departing from Hong Kong and arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 15, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she became symptomatic. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Six cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 73 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

From 0-24 hours on November 16, 2022, there were 26 new cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infections in Shanghai.

After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Asymptomatic infected person 3 was a US national, working in Singapore, departed from Singapore and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 11, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. Asymptomatic infected patients4 were of Chinese nationality, working in Thailand, departed from Thailand, transited through the United Kingdom, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 12, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 5 was a Chinese national who worked in Greece and departed from Greece with a connecting flight via Austria, and asymptomatic infected person 6 was an Austrian national who worked in Austria and departed from Austria. Asymptomatic infected person 5 and asymptomatic infected person 6 took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 12, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. Asymptomatic infected person 16 and asymptomatic infected person 17 were both of Chinese nationality. Asymptomatic infected person 16 and asymptomatic infected person 17 were transferred via Finland and took the same flight, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 14, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon arrival. During that time, routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the district CDC nucleic acid test results for the new coronavirus were positive. Asymptomatic infected person 18-asymptomatic infected person 20 were all American nationals, asymptomatic infected person 21 and asymptomatic infected person 22 were all Chinese nationals, asymptomatic infected person 18 lived in the United States, asymptomatic infected person 19-asymptomatic infected person 22 worked in the United States, asymptomatic infected person 18- Asymptomatic Infected Individual 22 departed from the United States on the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 15, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. The asymptomatic infected person23 was of Chinese nationality, working in France, departed from France and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 15, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 24 was of Chinese nationality, living in Hong Kong, departed from Hong Kong, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 15, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patient 25 was of Chinese nationality, visiting relatives in Brazil, departed from Brazil, transferred via Germany, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 15, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

The asymptomatic infected person26 was of Chinese nationality, visiting relatives in New Zealand, departed from New Zealand and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 15, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Twenty-six cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and 456 close contacts of the same flight have been tracked and all have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

From 0-24 hours on November 16, 2022, 28 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation in Shanghai, including 2 cases of local asymptomatic infected persons and 26 cases of imported asymptomatic infected persons from abroad.

From 0:00 on July 3, 2022 to 24:00 on November 16, 2022, a total of 216 cases were confirmed locally in Shanghai, 233 cases were cured and discharged, 7 cases were treated in hospital, and 0 cases died; there were 1408 asymptomatic infections. There are 0 suspected cases to be investigated.

As of 24:00 on November 16, 2022, there were 5604 confirmed imported cases in Shanghai, 5576 cases were discharged and 28 cases were under hospital treatment. There are 0 suspected cases to be investigated.
