From 00:00 to 24:00 on October 9, there were 40 new confirmed local cases in Urumqi, including 14 cases in Tianshan District, 5 cases in Shaibak District, 7 cases in Gaoxin District (Xincheng District), 9 cases in Shuimangu District, 1 case in Jingkai District (Tourtunhe District), and 4 cases in Middong District. There were 220 new cases of indigenous asymptomatic infections, including 52 cases in Tianshan District, 49 cases in Shaibak District, 32 cases in Gaoxin District (New Urban District), 35 cases in Shuimangu District, 23 cases in Jingkai District (Tourtunhe District), and 29 cases in Middong District. They were found in isolated medical observation personnel, high-risk areas, closed-loop management units and community nucleic acid screening, that is, transferred to designated medical institutions for isolated medical observation. At present, prevention and control work such as flow investigation and tracing, fall control, and tracking and exclusion of close contacts is in full swing, and environmental final disinfection is moving forward rapidly.

One new case of asymptomatic infected person imported from abroad was found during the screening of inbound closed-loop management, and corresponding control measures have been implemented according to relevant national regulations.

There were 13 new cases of asymptomatic infected persons released from medical observation in isolation, including 8 cases in Tianshan District, 2 cases in Shaibak District and 3 cases in High-tech District (New Urban Area).

Over the past few days, the number of reported cases in Urumqi has increased, and the risk of hidden spread of the virus has increased. The city’s epidemic prevention forces at all levels are making every effort to carry out nucleic acid screening, flow investigation and tracing, isolation control and other disposal work. The public is urged to remain calm, avoid panic, consciously raise their awareness of the risks, carefully do their personal protection and cooperate with the implementation of preventive and control measures. Do not go out unless necessary, do not move around in the building, do not go downstairs for nucleic acid sampling, do not pile up, do not gossip, do not shake hands and do not stick to your face when you meet neighbors, and do not give the epidemic a chance to spread. Leave quickly after completing sampling in an orderly manner according to staff guidelines to avoid close contact with inhalation of droplets from sneezing, coughing and talking of hidden risk personnel leading to infection. Conduct regular health monitoring and report immediately to the community if there are “ten symptoms” such as fever, dry cough, sore throat, loss of smell (taste), diarrhea, etc., and go to the nearest fever clinic in a timely manner.
