Medical staff prepare plasma for the recovery period of newly crowned recovered patients.

Xiaogan City Central Blood Station in Hubei Province prepared 55 bags of 8350 ml of New Coronavirus recovery plasma on the 5th, which will be sent to the clinic for the treatment of critically ill patients with New Coronavirus infection.

Donated blood is tested for antibodies to the new crown.

It is reported that the plasma isolated from the blood of recovered New Coronavirus-infected patients is tested for New Coronavirus antibodies, and the plasma with high antibody potency can be used as recovery plasma for the treatment of critically ill and critically ill patients.

Since the release of the blood donation initiative at the end of December, a number of emergency measures to safeguard blood in Xiaogan City have been launched simultaneously. The city’s group blood donations have been carried out one after another, with the governments of all counties (cities and districts) organizing group blood donations in a total of two weeks and 268 public officials donating more than 80,000 ml of blood, easing the tight blood stock situation, and some enthusiastic citizens actively donating blood after recovering from the new coronavirus infection.

Medical staff shake and mix the reagents.

Hubei has previously issued an initiative to call on citizens to donate blood with their arms to help fight the epidemic. Citizens who are 18 to 55 years old, in good health and eligible for blood donation (including 7 days after the last positive test for nucleic acid or antigen for new coronavirus infection, 6 months after recovery for heavy or critical type of infection, and 48 hours after vaccination with recombinant vaccine and inactivated vaccine) can participate in blood donation without compensation.
