13 new cases of indigenous asymptomatic infections in Shanghai yesterday

The Shanghai Municipal Health Commission informed this morning (October 21) that from 0-24 hours on October 20, 2022, there were no new local confirmed cases of New Coronary Pneumonia and 13 new local asymptomatic infections, all of which were found in isolation control. There were 2 new confirmed cases of imported new coronary pneumonia from abroad and 31 new asymptomatic infections, all of which were found in closed-loop control.

From 00-24 hours on October 20, 2022, there were no new local confirmed cases of New Coronary Pneumonia in Shanghai. Three cases were cured and discharged from the hospital.

There were 13 new indigenous asymptomatic infections in Shanghai from 0-24 hours on October 20, 2022.

Asymptomatic infected person 13, temporarily living in Pudong New Area, was a person from other provinces to Shanghai, and was implemented for control after arriving in Shanghai, during which the nucleic acid test result of the new coronavirus was abnormal. The nucleic acid test result was reviewed by the city and district CDC and was positive. After municipal expert consultation, comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

On October 20, 2022, 0-24 hours, through the joint prevention and control mechanism at the port, Shanghai reported 2 confirmed cases of overseas imported New Coronary Pneumonia. Two cases were cured and discharged from hospital, including one case from the UK and one case from Germany.

Case 1 is of Chinese nationality, visiting relatives in the United States, departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 8, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, and was sent to a designated medical institution for isolation and investigation when symptoms appeared before being released from isolation. After expert group consultation, the diagnosis was made as a confirmed case by combining epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings.

Case 2 was a resident of Taiwan, living in Taiwan, departed from Taiwan and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 13, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which symptoms appeared. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as confirmed cases.

Two cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and close contacts of the same flight have previously been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

From 00-24 hours on October 20, 2022, there were 31 new cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infections in Shanghai.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 is of Chinese nationality, lives in Hong Kong, departed from Hong Kong and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 11, 2022, and was placed under centralized isolation and observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 2 and asymptomatic infected person 3 were both residents of Taiwan, living in Taiwan, departed from Taiwan, took the same flight, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 13, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients4 were of Chinese nationality, working in Italy, departed from Italy, transferred via Germany, and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 13, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients5 were of Chinese nationality, working in Singapore, departed from Singapore and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 13, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients6 were Canadian nationals visiting relatives in Canada, departing from Canada and arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 15, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients7 were of Chinese nationality, visiting relatives in the UK, departing from the UK and arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 16, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients8 were of Chinese nationality, studied in the United States, departed from the United States, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 16, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. The asymptomatic infected patient10 was of Chinese nationality, working in Finland, departed from Finland and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 17, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients11 are American nationals, living in the United States, departed from the United States, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 17, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Asymptomatic infected person 21 and asymptomatic infected person 22, both of Chinese nationality, working in Spain, departed from Spain, took the same flight, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 18, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic Infected Person 23 – Asymptomatic Infected Person 26 were all of Chinese nationality. Asymptomatic Infected Person 23 worked in Argentina and departed from Argentina with a connecting flight via Germany, Asymptomatic Infected Person 24 and Asymptomatic Infected Person 25 worked in Germany and departed from Germany, Asymptomatic Infected Person 26 lived in Germany and departed from Germany, Asymptomatic Infected Person 23 -Asymptomatic Infected Person 26 took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 18, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic Infected Person 27 and Asymptomatic Infected Person 28 were both of Chinese nationality. Asymptomatic Infected Person 27 worked in France and departed from France with connecting flights via Germany and the Netherlands, and Asymptomatic Infected Person 28 worked in Germany and departed from Germany with connecting flights via the Netherlands. Asymptomatic Infected Person 27 and Asymptomatic Infected Person 28 took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 18, 2022, and were centralized isolation for observation, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of asymptomatic infections.

The asymptomatic infected person29 was of Chinese nationality, visiting relatives in Australia, departed from Australia, transferred via New Zealand, and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 18, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

The asymptomatic infected person30 was of Chinese nationality, working in the Netherlands, departed from the Netherlands and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 19, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

The asymptomatic infected person31 was of Chinese nationality, working in Germany, departed from Germany and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 19, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Thirty-one cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and 540 close contacts of the same flight have been tracked, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

From 0-24 hours on October 20, 2022, 50 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation in Shanghai, including 27 cases of local asymptomatic infected persons and 23 cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons.

From 0000 hours on July 3, 2022 to 2400 hours on October 20, 2022, there were 200 confirmed cases in Shanghai, 204 cases were cured and discharged, 20 cases were treated in hospital, and 0 cases died; there were 1177 asymptomatic infections. There are 0 suspected cases to be investigated.

As of 24:00 on October 20, 2022, there were 5512 confirmed cases imported from outside of Shanghai, 5489 cases were discharged and 23 cases were under hospital treatment. There are 0 suspected cases to be investigated.
