7139 new positive cases of new coronavirus in Hong Kong

The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health of the HKSAR Government announced on 22nd that as of 00:00 on the same day, there were 7139 new positive cases of new coronavirus in Hong Kong.
Among the new cases, 6505 cases are local cases, including 1489 positive nucleic acid test cases, 5016 positive rapid test cases. There were also 634 imported cases.
The Center for Health Protection has been closely monitoring positive cases involving mutated strains of the virus through genetic analysis. As of 22nd, the Public Health Laboratory Service has cumulatively identified 224 cases of XBB, 6 cases of XBD, 8 cases of BA.2.75.2, 7 cases of BA.4.6, 12 cases of BF.7 and 34 cases of BQ.1.1 sub-lineage among imported cases in Hong Kong, and 62 cases of XBB, 16 cases of XBD, 1 case of BA.2.75.2, 1 case of BF.7 and 70 cases of BQ.1.1 sublineage.
The Hospital Authority of Hong Kong announced that 13 new confirmed patients were reported to have passed away in public hospitals in the past day. (End)
