January 4 – A Chinese passenger in his 40s refused to be quarantined in a hotel after he was tested positive for New Coronavirus at Incheon International Airport upon his arrival in Korea. During the transfer to the quarantine site, he absconded from near a hotel in Incheon City. The police will pursue the investigation for the crime of violating the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act. Recently, the Korean government has imposed restrictions on short-term visas for Chinese citizens to visit Korea and required travelers from China to undergo pre-trip and inbound nucleic acid testing.
