Beijing takes measures to stabilize the price order of the drug market, the current shortage of drugs has been eased

On January 4, the national market supervision system to carry out the epidemic-related drugs and medical supplies to stabilize the price and ensure the quality of the television and telephone conference was held. Gao Nandong, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision, introduced that at present, the shortage of drugs in Beijing has been eased, and people in the capital have guaranteed prices, quality and legal rights of drugs, and the market order and environment are stable and good.

With the continuous adjustment and optimization of the national epidemic prevention and control policy, the demand for some epidemic-related drugs and materials has surged, and the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government responded promptly and set up an emergency special team for emergency protection of drugs and medical materials on December 8, 2022. Beijing Municipal Bureau of Market Regulation and Municipal Drug Administration made comprehensive use of interviews and cautions, key inspections, administrative penalties and other means to stabilize the market price order.

The emergency disposal mechanism for price enforcement was launched, and the “Reminder and Caution on Further Regulating Market Price Behavior” was issued on December 5 last year to warn operators not to hoard and inflate prices for livelihood goods and epidemic prevention supplies. Three times to the State Drug, China Resources and other eight large drug distributors, Jingdong, Meituan, Dingdang fast medicine and other six network platform head enterprises to carry out special administrative interviews and reminders and cautions, requiring the major platforms to fulfill the main responsibility.

At the same time, with the strong support and guidance of the General Administration of Market Regulation, communicate with the local market supervision departments of drug manufacturers, pay close attention to the ex-factory prices of drugs such as Lianhua Qingfei, and work together to maintain a smooth drug price order.

Since December 11, the organization of law enforcement officers 24 hours a day in the factory, to strengthen the production of drugs, medical supplies in Beijing, the circulation of key enterprises in the purchase, storage, shipping and other aspects of on-site supervision, and effective price stability and quality.

At the same time, to strengthen law enforcement inspection efforts, December 3, 2022, the citywide deployment of “four types of drugs” law enforcement inspection, focusing on retail pharmacies, Internet business platform sales of “four types of drugs”, antigen detection kits and other epidemic prevention supplies Supply and price implementation. From December 13 of the same year, 4,175 pharmacies in the area were inspected for full coverage. As of January 3 this year, 25,529 inspectors have been deployed, 11,522 business entities have been inspected, and 5,873 households have been reminded and cautioned, and the current market order of epidemic-related materials in the capital is basically stable.

By exposing typical cases, we have formed a strong deterrent to illegal acts. Ltd. and Beijing Rehabilitation Home Medical Supplies Co., Ltd. for raising the price of antigen testing kits, and three of them were selected as typical cases of illegal drugs and medical supplies related to epidemics announced by the General Administration of Market Supervision to the whole country. Timely public exposure of typical cases through Beijing release and Beijing epidemic press conference effectively deterred unscrupulous businessmen and promptly eliminated people’s doubts, which achieved good social effects.

Gao Nandong said that it is still a critical period for the adjustment and transition of the epidemic prevention policy. Beijing Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision will conscientiously implement the spirit of this meeting, quickly formulate the work plan of Beijing special action, play the advantage of comprehensive law enforcement system and mechanism, and continuously crack down on price inflating, hoarding, false propaganda, false and illegal advertising, counterfeiting and other illegal acts.
