In the Yangba village health room in Guandu town, village doctor Li Shangfa is busy grabbing medicine for patients. As a village doctor, Li Shangfa has to make daily rounds in the village after completing the consultation to identify and treat infected people.

Li Shangfa said, “For patients with minor illnesses, the combination of Chinese and Western medicine helps patients to recover better and relieve discomfort; patients with serious illnesses are centrally arranged to higher-level hospitals.”

Li Shangfa is distributing health kits to villagers.

There are 568 people over 60 years old in Yangba Village, 317 of whom have underlying diseases. With the start of the Spring Festival, Li Shangfa not only increases the frequency of visits to key people, but also unifies the distribution of health kits for villagers, including antipyretic and analgesic antipyretic medicines and Chinese medicines to clear fever and detoxification. Chongqing districts and counties have ordered 2,448,000 “health kits”, which are being distributed free of charge to people over 60 years old in rural areas.

Wushan County strengthens scheduling and implements county, township and village level linkage. The village health office can consult, buy drugs, and see patients; the township health center can receive, treat, and grade; the county hospital focuses on treating people with basic diseases and serious illnesses, and uses “cloud” services and telephone consultation to provide support for township and village medical staff.
