Dalian: Advocate for retail pharmacies with the conditions to split and sell drugs for epidemic prevention and control

On December 26, the Dalian Municipal Administration of Market Supervision issued a notice that in response to the shortage of some drugs for epidemic prevention and control in the market, the relevant departments of the Dalian Municipal Government are actively coordinating with pharmaceutical wholesale enterprises and pharmacy chains to expand procurement channels and continuously increase the amount of drugs for the community. At the same time, in order to better protect the accessibility of medicines to the public, and on the basis of ensuring the quality and safety of medicines, we advocate that retail pharmacies in the city with the conditions to sell drugs for epidemic prevention and control should be split and sold, and we hereby notify the relevant matters as follows.

Retail pharmacies should be based on the “Code of Practice for the Quality Management of Pharmaceutical Business” to carry out training for practitioners to split sales and regulate the work of splitting drugs.
Retail pharmacies to split the workbench and tools should be kept clean, sanitary, to prevent cross-contamination.
Retail pharmacies to split sales should use clean, sanitary packaging.
Retail pharmacies to do a good job of splitting sales records, including the start date of splitting, the generic name of the drug, specifications, lot number, manufacturer, expiration date, sales quantity, sales date, splitting and review personnel.
Zero sales should provide the original or a copy of the drug instructions, the purchaser can be photographed and kept.
Retail pharmacies should retain the original packaging and instructions during the sales of split.

The public is urged to purchase drugs on demand, rational drug purchases, do not blindly hoard drugs, the limited drug resources for patients who really need them.
