How to cope with these emotions? The reporter learned from the Jinan Civil Affairs Bureau, under the guidance of the Bureau, with immediate effect, the Jinan Social Work Association announced the city’s social work agencies (social work stations) to respond to the new crown pneumonia epidemic psychological assistance hotline, a total of 200 operators to provide the general public with psychological support, psychological guidance and other services to alleviate negative emotions, to prevent and alleviate the psychological distress caused by the epidemic. The general public can call the hotline for help if they need it according to the announced service area and connection time.

The person in charge of Jinan Civil Affairs Bureau said that the psychological assistance is mainly for the following four categories of people.
- medical and nursing staff, grassroots front-line workers and their families at the front line of epidemic prevention and control.
- newly crowned pneumonia confirmed personnel, asymptomatic infected persons, home isolation, centralized isolation personnel and their families.
- children and adolescents who encounter difficulties in their studies or parents who are confused in their education due to the epidemic
- elderly people, disabled people and other civil service recipients who have bad moods due to the epidemic and need psychological guidance and psychological support.
Every weekday from 9:00-11:30 am and 13:30-17:00 pm, Jinan citizens can call for communication and consultation. Social work agencies (social work stations) can also provide services in the form of WeChat, QQ or other online according to their own situation. After the consultant dials the hotline, he or she can choose the operator from the list to provide psychological counseling.
The Jinan Civil Affairs Bureau especially reminds that during the period when the psychological assistance hotline is in operation, the social work agencies (social work stations) shall not charge any form of remuneration such as consultation fees or service fees from the psychological assistance recipients. At the same time, malicious harassment calls and information will be investigated in accordance with the relevant responsibilities.
