From 0 to 24 hours on October 9, there were 5 new local confirmed cases in the city, 4 of which were found among the closely connected people in home isolation and 1 among the people coming to Guangdong from outside the province for cross-regional coordination. There was also one case of previous local asymptomatic infected person to confirmed case.

Case 1 and Case 2 arrived in Foshan from other provinces on October 5 and were included in the home quarantine on the same day as persons involved in the risk area, and were judged to be in close contact on October 6 because positive cases were found on the same flight; Case 3 and Case 4 lived in other cities and came to Foshan on October 3 and were included in the home quarantine on October 5 as persons living with Cases 1 and 2. All four persons were tested negative for nucleic acid from October 4 to 8, and positive for nucleic acid on October 9.

Combined with epidemiological investigation, clinical manifestations and laboratory tests, the above persons were diagnosed as confirmed cases, and have been transferred to the designated hospital for isolation and observation in a closed loop.

At present, the disposal work related to the flow of traceability, isolation and control, nucleic acid testing, medical treatment is being carried out in an orderly manner, the dense connection and sub-dense connection that have been identified are implemented and controlled; the key places screened in our city have been implemented and controlled according to the norms and completed the disinfection after collecting environmental samples.

From 0 to 24:00 on October 9, the city imported 1 new confirmed case from abroad and 6 new cases of asymptomatic infected persons from abroad, which were included in the management after entry.

As of 24:00 on October 9, the city has reported a total of 504 confirmed cases (including 355 cases imported from abroad).
