One new local confirmed case in Shanghai yesterday, no new local asymptomatic infections

On November 1, 2022, from 0-24 hours, one new confirmed case of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia was found in isolation control. Eight new confirmed cases of imported New Crown pneumonia from abroad and 21 cases of asymptomatic infections were added.

Status of indigenous cases

On November 1, 2022 from 00-24 hours, there was one new confirmed case of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia.

The case resides in Pudong New District and was found to be abnormal during routine nucleic acid testing of closed-loop management key personnel. The nucleic acid test results were reviewed by the city and district CDC and were positive. The case was diagnosed as a confirmed case after consultation with municipal experts and comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings.

The situation of local asymptomatic infected persons

From 0-24 hours on November 1, 2022, there were no new indigenous asymptomatic infections.

Status of imported cases from abroad

From 0-24 hours on November 1, 2022, 8 confirmed cases of overseas imported neocrown pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at ports. Three cases were cured and discharged, including one case from Canada, one case from Japan, and one case from the United States.

Case 1 and case 2 were both of Chinese nationality, living in Nigeria, departed from Nigeria, transferred via Germany, took the same flight, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 25, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which they developed symptoms. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 3 was a Chinese national who worked in Germany and departed from Germany and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 27, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 4 was a Chinese national, visiting relatives in Canada, departing from Canada and arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 28, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 5 was a Chinese national working in Austria who arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 29, 2022 from Austria and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon arrival, during which he developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 6, a Chinese national living in the United States, departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 30, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she became symptomatic. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 7 was a Chinese national who worked in Switzerland and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 31, 2022, from Switzerland with a connecting flight via Finland, and was placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon arrival, during which she developed symptoms. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 8 was a Chinese national who worked in Singapore, departed from Singapore and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 31, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of a confirmed case.

Eight cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 64 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

The situation of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons

From 0-24 hours on November 1, 2022, there were 21 new cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 is of Spanish nationality, lives in Spain, departed from Spain and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 25, 2022, and was placed under centralized isolation and observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 2 was of German nationality, living in Germany, departed from Germany, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 27, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Asymptomatic infected person 11-asymptomatic infected person 13 are all of Chinese nationality, asymptomatic infected person 11 and asymptomatic infected person 12 work in the United States, and asymptomatic infected person 13 lives in the United States, asymptomatic infected person 11-asymptomatic infected person 13 departed from the United States, took the same flight, and arrived at October 30, 2022 Shanghai Pudong International Airport and was placed in centralized isolation for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. Asymptomatic infected person 16 studied in the UK and departed from the UK with a connecting flight via Finland, asymptomatic infected person 17 studied in Italy and departed from Italy with a connecting flight via Finland, asymptomatic infected person 18 worked in Finland and departed from Finland, asymptomatic infected person 16- Asymptomatic infected person 18 took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 31, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. Asymptomatic infected person 19 and asymptomatic infected person 20, both of Chinese nationality, worked in Singapore, departed from Singapore, took the same flight, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 31, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

The asymptomatic infected person21 was of Chinese nationality, working in the United States, departed from the United States, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 31, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

21 cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and 399 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of which have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.
